Paris Attacks: UEFA Says Champions League & Europa F

In the midst of the frenzy caused the by the Paris attacks, UEFA has announced that the Champions League and Europa League fixtures will not be cancelled.

Olympique Lyon will be hosting Belgian side KAA Gent on Tuesday, while PSG travel to Sweden to face Malmo on Wednesday.

In a statement by UEFA, the normal schedule will not be interrupted, and it was already in communication with the clubs that would be playing at home on how to provide maximum security.

UEFA’s statement said: “All matches are scheduled to go ahead as planned.”

“UEFA has very strict rules regarding safety and security in relation to the organisation of matches and is working closely with the home clubs and local authorities to ensure all necessary measures are implemented to guarantee safety for all involved.”

“UEFA has not issued directives about travelling fans, it is up to the relevant authorities to decide on such matters.”
