Gmail For Android Gets Block Senders And Unsubscribe Option

Google has introduced two new features for Gmail. The new block feature lets you block specific email addresses and the unsubscribe option will enable you to opt out of eligible mailing lists directly from the Gmail app, which comes handy for unnecessary newsletters. Once you block someone, future emails from them will directly go to spam folder, skipping inbox, but you can unblock them anytime from the Settings.

Both these can be enabled from the option in the menu inside an email. The block option will be available for the web starting today, and will roll out for Android over the next week. The unsubscribe option that is already live on the web is now available for Android.

These are definitely handy features for the Gmail app. Google did not announce when these new features will be available for the Gmail app for iPhone.
